Corner
for May
Remove algae and moss from any paths or patios with a patio and path cleaner.
Tidy up any remaining leaves and garden rubbish as these can make wonderful homes for slugs and snails etc.
Lift and divide primulas and polyanthus once they have finished flowering.
Feed established roses with a rose fertilizer
Cut grass weekly, longer grass is harder to cut. Apply a weed and feed to established lawns and dont forget to water in with a hose if it has not rained.
Trees and Shrubs planted in autumn or winter should be watered regularly as their roots will not yet have fully developed.
Time to think about protecting your plants from slugs and snails. Slug pellets, course grit or traps can be very effective. A good alternative is to try to attract natural predators such as birds, hedgehogs and frogs to your garden.
